Art-A-Whirl 2010

This weekend was Art-a-whirl. I, unfortunately, didn't get much of a chance to wander around the hundreds of buildings participating in the event because I was working at the Rogue Buddha Gallery.

But I do have several photos of the Science and Wonder opening to share with you and pleased to say that we had an amazing turnout all weekend. Thanks to everyone who came out!

We sold a number of T-shirts that I designed for the gallery. We still have plenty left, in both Women's and Men's sizes and colors. And can easily order more if needed.

Science and Wonder

This weekend is the annual Art-a-whirl in NE Minneapolis, and of course, the Rogue Buddha Gallery is taking part. I went over there this afternoon to help set up the new show, Science and Wonder, featuring works by Caitlin Karolczak and Michael Thomsen.

I took a few photos while we were setting up to share a sneak peek. Come check out the art in person at the opening tomorrow night (7pm - 11am) or any time this weekend during Art-a-whirl.

Scion Installation 6 at the Pink Hobo

Last night I went to the Scion Installation 6 Art Tour opening at the Pink Hobo Gallery in NE.

This year they were featuring video art, which is a large change from the usual paintings/drawings that they typically exhibit. The video artists include Dust la Rock (Brooklyn, NY), Eric Nakamura (Los Angeles, CA), Saelee Oh (Los Angeles, CA), French (London, England), Josh Graham (New York, NY), Monihan Monihan (New York, NY), Mark Mothersbaugh (Los Angeles, CA), PMKFA (Tokyo, Japan), Sage Vaughn (Los Angeles, CA) and Ill-Studio (Paris, France).

Outside of the gallery was a Scion music truck. It looked like a street food-vendor truck, but instead of hot dogs and french fries, you could download music for free. It was really cool actually; I've never seen anything else like it before.

In addition to free music, we also picked up a free goodie bag, which included this really cool retro-stylized travel magazine.

I ran into 2 very good friends from MCAD that I hadn't seen in nearly 3 years, so we decided to stop off for a night cap together and catch up before parting ways again. It was so much fun!

On our way back from the bar it started snowing! It was nuts! Snowing in May... only in the midwest.

If you missed the opening, you can still check out the work. The show is up until May 21st.
