Found Art

Today, while working, I found a very humorous brochure on the ground. I was initially drawn to it by the cover art.

It informs me that everyone falls short of "god's standards". Isn't that kind of shitty? We're god's bastard children that aren't good enough.. how very touching. What a delightful little brochure. But don't worry. Jesus will save you.

Jews for Jesus. Yay.

On the way home from work, I found another delightful drawing on the ground. This one done on a piece of cardboard, drawn on both sides. This time I get a flower from a snowman with arms and legs. Yay!

Look Book

Hey guys. I'm working on putting together a look book and designing some swimsuits. I wanted to give myself a project that combined both design and illustration, so here is some of the work I've done thus far

And The Votes Are In!

Usually when discussing politics I get very angry, but finally, for the fist time in my life I can honestly say I am truly ecstatic with the way things turned out. I admit that I am still a skeptic when it comes to Obama. On the surface he seems like a very decent human being with the intelligence of someone who actually deserved to go to an ivy league school, but at the same time he is still a Politician...

However. At least we don't have some dumbass, gun-toting hocky mom one stroke away from the Presidency.

New Finds

Today, Ryan and I went to the APE con (Alternative Press Expo)where I discovered many excellent artists.

I recognized a few people there (and I apologize for lack of photos of the event - I didn't even think of it.. I was too wrapped up in experiencing it) But I am most excited about the few who stood out to me out of the hundreds of booths.

Ken Garduno

Tom Haubrick

I was excited to learn that both Ken and Tom are in a show at Gallery 1988 next week. The opening is on the 7th and I will certainly be attending =)

One last find:

This year for Halloween I went as Princess Mononoke. Only about 4 people recognized who I was, which I suppose isn't that surprising, but I was surprised by how many people had never even heard of any of the more recent Miyazaki films.

On the way back from helping my friend with her animation, we stumbled across the Virgin Records store on Market which just so happened to be hosting a free Yelle concert.. ! It was so awesome. She didn't get to perform for very long, about 20 mins or so, but it was great. She did some acoustic versions of a few songs and it was really good. She can sing really well - a lot better than most performers I've seen live.

possibly one of the funniest signs I've seen.. ever
